New students begin their class being taught one punch, one kick and one block.

Student are responsible for practicing each technique until Sensei is satisfied. When each basic is satisfied, more basics are taught. This is the practice until all basics are completed.

Students are encouraged to stay after class for extra help.

When basics are completed, the student will begin kata training. The more the student practices, the more they learn. As in life, you only get out of karate what you put into it.

Students are permitted to spar (Kumite) when they begin their kata training. Students may only Kumite with Blackbelts until Sensei is satisfied. Once sparring is performed at a safe and controlled level, they may spar with the rest of the class.

The first belt (orange belt) is awarded to those students who have displayed proficiency in basics, kumite and completed their first kata (Seisan kata).
